Ultimate Audio/MP3/FLAC player combo? (for the money)

SO I once went looking for an MP3 player that sounded good and had more than 2GB of storage in it without breaking the bank. Since I had purchased my g/f a Sansa Clip for Xmas one year I did not want to get one of those. I wanted to try something new.

SO, In my looking I came across this FIIO X3-2 (X3- 2nd gen):

It had a HUGE amount of positive reviews on a few different websites.

I did not realize it was a Chinese brand company. I really hate buying anything Chinese usually because most things Chinese are knockoffs/copies and I have it in my head that Chinese sellers on ebay are nothing but thieves and scoundrels/ con artists. Funny how only China sells seeds for purple watermelons and rainbow roses and other thigns. They know that when something FINALLY grows and you discover you were ripped, there is little you can do about it.

Now when I say China and Chinese, I am referring to the unregulated crap and garbage that comes from that place. I know MANY things come from China and many things have good quality, but also, many things SUCK and you just have to know what to get.

So I got my MP3 player and I got it used for about $113 after shipping and it looked brand new. The guy took really good care of it and I have to say. I was impressed with the craftsmanship of this device. For a Chinese item this is a VERY nice looking, feeling and sounding MP3/Digital Audio player. VERY NICE.

And the battery LASTS AND LASTS AND LASTS. I think I am going on 6+ hours now and maybe still at 3/3 bars. I have had it at my house for over 4 months and I have not charged it once yet, I have only used it about 10 times. Mine came with a 128GB class 10 card (used) but apparently you can go bigger according to some folks.

So the solution for my needs was this really cool player. BUT I had to get some NICER ear buds too, so I found these that had a lot of good reviews on Amazon: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...M1000&_sacat=0

I got them and I liked them, but while doing yard work, unless you have that cord tucked away they can get pulled out- nono, RIPPED out of your ear and then you find yourself dusting them off and blowing them out a lot and messing with adjustments...

SO I thought- hey, why not get a decent set of headphones?

SO, I decided I wanted some Parrot Zik 2.0 or 3.0s but I am really screwed up in the head if I buy a set of those right now. SO I did some searching and found some REALLY good mentions of these 8323s on Amazon, then I went to the website and found them about $10 cheaper: https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_...seq=1&format=2

So I got those for $17.23 or so and picked them up on Monday. They SOUNDED nice, but they did not pop like the reviews said.

I had already anticipated this and I found a Fiio a3 Amp. I figured- why not. This company seems to make good things, let's give their amp a try.

So I got one of these for about $40 (used) : http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...c&LH_PrefLoc=1

It arrived today. I plugged it in and when I put on the headphones it was like I was stepping into another world. The EQ from the player was set to ROCK, the gain was turned on, the bass was turned on and WOW. OMFG...

Yes, a little more than a $45 player but when I put these headphones on, I can BARELY hear myself talk, I have to yell just to hear that I am making noise, and I do NOT have it blasting in my ears, but when I turn up the volume now, the entire world gets cut out by about 95%...

I am a VERY happy camper. SO to recap:
Fiio X3-2 + Monoprice 8323 + Fiio A3 = Musical bliss on a budget.

Anyways. Just thought I would share. These headphones are sweet. For the price I paid, I am VERY happy and since they are MONOPRICE, I can now see how they hold up. Photo to be posted when I get back from the nursery (buying a night jasmine)
